Mike's Archie

Mike runs around the room and tries to search for Archie in order to stop it from destroying the party. Suddenly, Mike finds out that Archie is eating at the corner of the room, and he sneaks the bucket which is on the table and tries to approach Archie and catch it!!! Oops, all of a sudden, as soon as Mikes catches Archie, it escapes from being caught. Now, Mike becomes aware that Archie is nimble enough not to be caught easily. After few minutes, Mike doesn't do anything until he finds out that Archie calms down. Mike approaches Archie again, and he takes the thick rope to fasten on the bucket so that Mike is possibly able to catch Archie without being nearby it. However, when Mike throws the bucket equipped with the rope toward Archie, he finds out that the rope has been cut on purpose (maybe the Archie bites it);therefore, the bucket falls down on the floor, causing the noise and frighten Archie again. Now, Mike sees Archie running and rushing inside of the room and Mike runs to close the door for fear that Archie escapes from the room. Eventually, Mike finds out that Archie is sleeping (maybe it is too tired to run), and Mike quietly approaches Archie and use the bucket to catch Archie successfully without making any noise.

Whoops! Art ruins it again.

“Hey Squish! Whatcha doin?” Squishy heard the voice of Art as he was hiding behind the apple tree. “I was chasing a little orange thingy but then I saw some butterflies and didn’t see where it went, I don’t even remember how I got here.” Art was confused at Squishy’s concentration on holding a bucket against the ground. “shhh” signaled Squishy as he pointed at the bucket. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN?” yelled Art and the bucket suddenly moved abruptly. “Wow!!! Can I see it? Can I see it? I want to see it! screamed Art in excitement. After some consideration, Squishy signaled they had to be really careful and slowly lifted one rim of the bucket. Art leaned all the way to the ground and urged Squishy to lift the bucket higher as he couldn’t see, and as expected, Archie moved one more time and escaped the bucket bouncing over Art and running back toward the fraternity houses. “Don’t worry Squishy, I’ll catch it for you!” Art took the bucket as he left squishy sighing plastered against the apple tree.

Status: Chasing Archie toward the fraternity houses.

Feeling: Thrilled with the fun chase.

Squishy finally caught Archie!

Squishy was sitting in front of the room and crying for not catching Archie. After experiencing two-time failure of catching Archie, Squishy felt depressed and tired. He was too tired to catch Archie again, so he lay on the floor and fell asleep. In his dream, he tried to catch Archie again and again; however, he never successfully caught Archie. After an hour, Squishy woke up with a tear-streaked face. He went down stairs and walked to the sink next to the house. While Squishy was washing his face, he heard some voice from the forest. Squishy speedily hid behind a tree. The next second, Squishy saw Randall walked out the forest with a bucket. "Archie is in the bucket!" said Squishy with a slight sound. Randall came to the sink and put down the bucket to seek for some water to drink. "What a wonderful chance! I can silently slide to the bucket and sneak it!" Squishy thought in his mind. So, Squishy crawled on the floor and tried to get closer to Randall and the bucket. When Squishy came to the other side of the bucket, Randall was still drinking the water. Squishy grabbed the bucket and ran to the forest. "Yes, yes, yes! I finally catch Archie" said Squishy, stopping in front of an apple tree.

Status: Caught Archie with the bucket.
Feeling: Happy and exciting.

Randall's Adventure of Catching Archie

    As a freshman who desired to be a member of fraternity, Randall Boggs(Randall) was waiting for any chances to prove his greatness. While seeing Archie running out the party room, Randall chased it out of the room immediately. “It is a great chance to show the fraternity how scary I am! And I must seize this chance given by Archie!” Randall thought to himself. Knowing how fast Archie was, he decided to turn to the opposite direction and hide in the corner. When Archie showed up, Randall changed himself into a fifty-mixed color monster and shouted it aloud! Archie got terrified and stood still, and Randall was going to catch it. To Randall’s astonishment, Archie was shocked for only two seconds, and then turned to bite Randall so hard that Randall’s colors kept changing. Randall was left helpless, and Archie kept running and it looked enjoyable.

    Feeling helpless, Randall passed by the breaking the dance club, he decided to join them and acquire additional skills to catch Archie. Actually, Randall was a dexterous lizard, so he learned how to perform a skill called “superman windmill” in a quiet short time. Afterwards, he finally came into Archie in the playground, he showed his new skill with an eye to trapping it in the corner, and it seemed that Randall was going succeed. At the very moment, Archie slid from Randall’s feet and was stolen by someone else. It was too dark to recognize the thief. Randall failed again, wondering why he still did not make despite learning skills. A wave of frustration swept over Randall’s whole body.

    Since Randall was in high school, he had been the first place in the class and had been very proud, rejecting to confide his feelings to others except his fraternal twin sister. Randall recalled a conversation between them, which was to cheer him up when he was flunked before. As a result, he was consoled and was encouraged not to give up and decide to play some tricks by developing his own talents. Family’s warmth inspired Randall to come up with ideas and was ready to accept challenge again.

    Being afraid of being caught by others, Archie rushed into the campus forest, the darkest and the most terrifying place in the university. Randall realized his chance was finally coming because this time the battle would be won based on wisdom rather than physical skill. Randall successfully predicted that there were lots of traps set up in the forest to catch Archie, most of which were set on the ground.  Randall hid in the forest with his color becoming similar to the surroundings and was free of plenty of attacks from others, and then he climbed up the trees and became invisible till Archie was caught by a wooden trap-bucket. Noticing somebody was moving toward Archie, Randall climbed down and rushed to catch the bucket as quickly as he could. Nobody really understood how could the bucket move by itself on the air. It appeared like a ghost in the forest and everybody gave up chasing it. After two times failure, Randall finally caught Archie! Feeling happy, Randall walked out the forest with a bucket of Archie.

Feeling: Confident→helpless→frustrated→inspired→happy

Art sees Archie, although he doesn't seem to know what's going on

"Woeh Woeh Woeh!!" Said Art with excitement and surprise then a little orange ball hit one of his as he stepped up the second floor. 'well, I'm pretty sure I haven't drunk any weird stuff today, what's this?" Archie seemed shocked for a few seconds and Art took it closer to his eyes just as Archie started moving frantically again. "hey, relax!! Ouch!!" Art's first reaction was to shake Archie off his leg as he became yet another victim of Archie's teeth. Archie escapes and runs downstairs and Art runs full of excitement behind it. "Wow you're fast! come little thingy! show them teeth!!! come here!" Art's screams make all the other monsters to turn their attention to the stairs only to see how Archie escapes out the main door as Art runs behind him shouting: "Woohoo!! Show them teeth!! I gotta see them!!"

Location: outside the front door of the house.

Feeling: Excited 

Squishy's second catch.

Squishy didn’t want to give up and neither did other monsters. However, Archie was too crazy to be caught. Archie strained to bite every hand that wanted to catch it. When many monsters was crying for the pain from their hands, Squishy noticed that Archie ran upstairs. Squishy quietly followed Archie to the upstairs. Squishy was not sure which room Archie ran into. Squishy sneaked into the first room. There were many wooden boxes. Some of them were full of old books, another ones were full of antiques, and the others were empty boxes. Squishy didn’t find Archie here, but he picked up one empty box that he could just hide behind it and wouldn’t be seen. He slowly slid out the room with the wooden box. “Ok, the corridor is clear. Archie is not here”, Squishy spoke to himself in his mind. “Clip-clop, clip-clop.” Suddenly, a tiny noise came out from the dark room with an open door. Squishy slid to the room and looked into it. “There it is! Archie is over there!” Squishy found that Archie was trying to jump onto the shelf. Squishy moved softly and quietly with the wooden box and tried to catch Archie. “Creak－!” Oh, no!!!! Squishy’s wooden box bumped into the door. Archie found there was someone behind it. Squishy was trying to catch Archie with panic. Archie started to scream and run. Finally, Archie jumped across the box and Squishy then ran away. Squishy depressingly sat on the floor with tears.

Location: In one of the rooms upstairs. 

With: no one.  

Status: Sat next to a wooden empty box. 

Feeling: Very sad. Squishy was crying.

Don's Catch

Don was drinking his tea when Archie ran into the party. Everyone was in panic and tried to catch Archie. Squishy made all his effort to catch Archie, and he did it. After Don saw Squishy catch Archie, he thought it's the end of chaos. Suddenly, Archie snapped the tablecloth and ran away. Don shouted, "Squishy, don't worry! I'll help you!!!" Don ran as quickly as he could. He looked at the curtain where Archie was hiding. He pounced on the curtain, and he got nothing. Archie ran quickly and fled around the room. Don tried to use his hands to catch Archie. However, it was impossible because Archie bit people. Don broke all the cups while he was catching Archie. Finally, Don took the bucket and waited for Archie in the other side of the room. When Archie came closer, Don pounced on Archie. "Bang!" Don hit on the floor. "Thank God! It's alright. I got it," Don said with a smile, and then he passed out. Archie was free again.




Location: In the party room.With: Everyone. Status: Passing out on the floor.Feeling: Happy.(He thought he caught Archie)

Come and see if Squishy caught Archie!

Archie is hiding in a corner of the party room. Many monsters are busy looking for it. Squishy is accidentally hit again and again by busy monsters, so Squishy soundlessly and fast worms his way through monsters and hides under a table covered with a white lace tablecloth. He lies on the ground and carefully looks for Archie’s figure. There it is! Under the three-legged table! Oh no, a monster catches Archie. Archie screams and bites the monster’s hand. The monster cries out with a painful face. Squishy sees this scene and feels there’s an unknown pain on his hand, too. Archie runs away. Archie jumps on the table, then on the chair, then on a monster’s head. Many monsters pounce on the monster because Archie stops on his head. The monsters fall down together like a giant yarn. Squishy laughs. Archie isn’t caught and keeps screaming and running away. Squishy crawls out the table and stands by the wall. He stares at Archie and tries to see where Archie is going to run to. Squishy sneakily follows Archie along the wall. Suddenly, Archie jumped on the table which Squishy just hid a few minutes ago. Squishy slides to the table, grabs a corner of the white lace tablecloth, and tries to wrap Archie. Oh, yeah!!! Squishy wraps Archie! But Archie strives against Squishy. Archie snaps at the tablecloth, rushes out the table and then runs away. “Oh, no. I just got Archie!” says Squishy.

Location: In the party room.

With: no one. 

Status: Stays on the table with a ripped tablecloth.

Feeling: Sad. It's a pity. Squishy almost caught Archie!

Mission1:

Hello, you “fresh monsters”! One of the most important experiences in campus life is to join a fraternity or sorority. We hope that the new arrivals at Monsters U to spend some time getting know the Greek organizations on campus. Participation is crucial, as MU endeavors to make sure each match is a good match and each student finds a fitting family of brothers or sisters. 

At the fraternity and sorority party, there are new monsters and the members of fraternities and sororities. When everyone is eating and having fun at the party, suddenly something breaks in! It is “Archie the Scare Pig”, which is the mascot of Fear Tech! Archie must be caught or it will ruin everything in the party. Now, it is time for you to show your capability by catching it. If you are a member of a fraternity, you can prove how great your fraternity is; if you are a new arrival, well, it’s time to show your excellent vigor, chances are that you may catch the coolest fraternity’s eye if you do a good job.

Archie is hiding in a corner of the party room, and it can’t be caught with bare hands, it has to be caught with something like a bucket (There is only one bucket in the room or you need to find something else). Be careful, Archie runs fast and it bites. It moves really fast that when you find it in the party room, it may run outside and hide in another corner in the campus forest.

Welcome to Monster University! Learning at MU does not stay solely in the classroom. The development of the whole monster takes place in every aspect of life on campus. The social events, athletic competitions, music and theatrical performances are fertile fields for debate, laughter, and friendship. However, for you, the most important lesson is becoming an excellent scarer. How do you become a scarer? Well, work hard, study hard, and play harder! Enjoy your whole new university life!
